Job Description:

Parsons has a career opportunity for an amazingly talented Geotechnical/Civil Engineer to join our team!

In this role, you will work with a team of engineers, supporting a diverse range of major geotechnical and geo-environmental projects including investigation, design and construction projects.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform a variety of geotechnical / civil engineering tasks to complete designs for hazardous and solid waste projects including barrier walls (slurry techniques, sheet piles), landfills, excavations, and solidification projects.
  • Write design reports and memos.
  • Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.
  • Perform and / or coordinate engineering calculations, such as slope stability, settlement and finite element analysis.
  • Develop and / or coordinate field investigation programs.
  • Complete investigation and construction field assignments (as needed).
  • Review boring logs and develop subsurface soil profiles.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing programs and analyze and interpret laboratory test results.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with project team.
  • Obtain the necessary management skills to grow into a Task Manager / Project Manager / Technical Lead position.
  • Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both client and Parsons.


What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering is preferred
  • 3+ years of related work experience in remedial design and construction is preferred (not required).
  • Familiarity with CAD is preferred (not required).
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software packages such as Plaxis, RocScience and GeoStudio is preferred (not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and software applications.
  • Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.

This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
