Environmental Construction Coordinator

Location: New York, NY-Onsite between 4 boroughs
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000

Position Summary

The Environmental Construction Coordinator supports environmental monitoring, compliance, and stakeholder engagement activities for large-scale construction projects. This role serves as a liaison between environmental monitors, construction teams, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental requirements are met, issues are resolved efficiently, and project communications remain clear and effective.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities and maintain compliance documentation, permits, approvals, and project records.
  • Review environmental reports, monitoring data, and field observations to identify trends, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct site visits and support environmental compliance oversight during active construction.
  • Track environmental commitments, mitigation measures, and issue resolution efforts.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, meeting materials, and meeting minutes.
  • Support community outreach efforts and respond to environmental inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, project teams, and regulatory agencies to facilitate communication and compliance.
  • Communicate environmental status updates, risks, and recommendations to project leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental monitoring, construction oversight, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience reviewing environmental monitoring data, compliance reports, and mitigation measures.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing technical and public-facing materials.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale Design-Build, infrastructure, transportation, or public works projects.
  • Familiarity with air quality, noise, vibration, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Professional certifications such as ENV SP, CEP, CHMM, or similar credentials.
  • Experience supporting public-sector capital construction programs.
