Working within the PPCOE, your mission is to invest millions of dollars against the enterprise-wide promotion strategies in partnership merchants and business units to deliver optimal financial and guest-friendly outcomes. As a Promo Planner, you’ll focus on leading promotional offer strategy and effectiveness for multiple businesses, and be the key business consultant on driving affordability with promotions in partnership within a division across the various functions operating each business. There is also a strong partnership with Marketing to best amplify and bring offers to life for the Guest, as well as partnership with Store Operations, Finance and other important support areas.
This role will lead the financial analysis of the promotional roadmap for a division and its businesses. As a promo planner you will use and shape leading-edge tools and business insights to develop recommendations that optimize sales and profit. You will evaluate the trade-offs between promotions and clearance and analyze scenarios to drive sales and be competitive in the market.
Success in this role will require a high degree of financial acumen, retail fundamentals and ongoing communication excellence. This role will create and use an analytic fact base to facilitate strategy setting, decision making, opportunity sizing and communication in relevant forums. This role will require a delicate and active balancing act to manage the competing priorities of managing the weekly Merchandising P&L while remaining competitive and compelling to support and deliver Target’s brand and value proposition.
Finally, this role is expected to continuously innovate processes, tools and build partnerships to improve the inputs and outputs of the strategy.
We are currently hiring for two Promo Planner positions supporting Create & Celebrate (Stationery, Party, and Seasonal) and Dec Home/Domestics.

About you:
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will be performed both onsite at the assigned Target HQ MN location and virtually, depending on the needs of the role, team, and tasks for that day. Current in-office expectations are Monday through Thursday, subject to change based on business needs.
