Full Job Description
SMS is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Operations Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise network operations in support of AFCENT mission requirements. This role provides oversight of technical teams responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the AFCENT enterprise network, with a focus on network performance, service quality, outage coordination, operational impact assessments, and continuous process improvement.

AFCENT's mission is to deliver combat-ready air, space, communications, and cyberspace capability for USCENTCOM, helping maintain security and stability throughout Southwest Asia. We support the AFCENT Commander, USCENTCOM, coalition and joint partners, and warfighters who rely on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, partner networks, and other command-and-control systems. The AFCENT NOSC program is focused on running and protecting a 24/7 enterprise network and systems operations, including cybersecurity, engineering, maintenance, and technical support, keeping the AFCENT's theater communications and IT infrastructure ready, secure, and available to effectively execute the AFCENT mission.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations management to ensure alignment.
  • Responsible for the overall monitoring, status reporting and coordination of actions for the AFCENT enterprise network.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to a team of technical professionals responsible for supporting the AFCENT enterprise network.
  • Responsible for the management of network performance and end-to-end service quality for the Network infrastructure.
  • Reviews and analyze overall end-to-end network performance to maintain an acceptable level of network quality of service.
  • Participates in the assessment and selection of the network performance and management tools/systems for existing and new network technologies and services.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on to respond to unexpected issues or planned/unplanned disruptions.
  • Identify trends that may lead to service or network disruption and recommend remediation actions.
  • Conduct operational impact assessments of outages and potential outages.
  • Coordinate and manage authorized service interruptions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Report status of planned and unplanned outages and disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with multi-functional teams for implementation.
  • Perform any additional duties as required by local policy and guidance.

  • Provide functional training support as required.
  • Provide CONUS/OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in related field, and 5 or more years• relevant experience; or 7 or more years• relevant experience
  • IT operations/services management
  • Unix/Linux, and Firewall experience
  • LAN and WAN Enterprise support experience
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server using server images.
  • Experience with implementation of storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.

Certifications Required
  • VCTA or VMWare experience
  • CCNP
  • ITIL Foundation (personnel have up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification.)

Clearance Required
  • TS/SCI required
