Overview

Defines, advances, andmanagesthe automation and artificial intelligence strategy for Northside Hospital. This roleidentifiesopportunities to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and lower costs by applying intelligent automation solutions. The Automation & AI Architect partners with operational and clinical leaders to analyze inefficient processes, redesign workflows, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates andmaintainsthe Automation & AI Strategy and Roadmap for Northside Hospital
  • Identifiesoperational processes suitable for automation, AI augmentation, or workflow redesign
  • Benchmark AI opportunities in healthcare to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Partners with departments to transform manual workflows using automation technology
  • Conducts assessments of automation and AI opportunities; recommends prioritized initiatives based on quantifiable value
  • Sponsors automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, andeliminatemanual or repetitive tasks
  • Maintains awareness of current automation and AI technologies, trends, and platform capabilities
  • Mobilizes approved initiatives through existing program delivery structures and collaborates with project teams throughout execution
  • Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related technical field. (Equivalent experience may substitute.)
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools, AI/ML platforms, workflow tools, RPA technology, and data analytics concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, operational leaders, and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of business process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to analyze workflows and identify automation opportunities with measurable outcomes
  • Expert knowledge of hospital operations
  • PREFERRED:

  • Masters degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in automation, AI, process engineering, or related technology fields
  • Certifications in automation platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate), AI/ML, or process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience leading crossfunctional automation initiatives
  • Project lead or coordination experience
