Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently looking for an Engineering Technician 2 or 3 to work in our Rancho Bernardo (near San Diego, CA) location.

Role description & Responsibilities:
  • Support Radar Cross Section (RCS) and Radio Frequency (RF) testing of test articles and antennas
  • Mount and dismount test articles on a test support pylon
  • Will be expected to work in man lift at height of 65 feet
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and/or fabricate test equipment (production and prototype)
  • Assist in the verification, development and documentation of test procedures and special applications by interpreting product specifications
  • Will work multiple shifts


This role may be filled as an Engineering Technician 2 or Engineering Technician 3 based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications:

Engineering Technician 2
  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years of experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry, or related military service
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time deemed by business needs
  • Ability to use standard tools and shop equipment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office


Engineering Technician 3
  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 years of experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry, or related military service
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time deemed by business needs
  • Ability to use standard tools and shop equipment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Crane operations, rigging and lifting, forklift operation, cable handling, model weight and balance checks
  • Active Special Access Program (SAP)
  • Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies and power meters
  • Specialized Antenna/RCS data processing software (KNOWBELL, Pioneer, Spectrum 959)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
