Location: Onsite in Henderson, NV
Employment Status: Full Time | Direct Hire
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 Annually + Bonus Eligibility
Travel: Up to 50%

The Opportunity

The Engineering Team Lead (ETL) is responsible for building, developing, and leading a high-performing engineering team. This role focuses primarily on people leadership, recruiting, coaching, retention, and organizational development while providing technical oversight. Approximately 75% of the role is dedicated to leadership and team development, with about 25% focused on project management and technical guidance.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the safety, development, performance, and career progression of engineering team members.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard engineering talent.
  • Build a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage employee performance, compensation, retention, and work assignments.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for administrative and technical matters.
  • Provide technical oversight on complex control systems while limiting hands-on engineering.
  • Partner with project managers and senior engineers to support project planning and execution.
  • Mentor engineers during startup, commissioning, and professional development.
  • Champion Thermo's Quality Management System (QMS) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with technical leadership, project managers, supervisors, and executive leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project delivery while fostering the One Thermo culture.

Quality, Safety & Process
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Support project estimating, scheduling, invoicing, and resource planning.
  • Identify risks, improve processes, and eliminate operational silos.

People Leadership
  • Develop future technical leaders and supervisors.
  • Resolve team conflicts professionally and promptly.
  • Create an environment built on integrity, collaboration, accountability, and trust.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
  • Typically 7+ years of combined technical and leadership experience.
  • 3+ years as a Control Systems Project Engineer I or equivalent.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, industrial automation, and control systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of project planning, estimating, commissioning, and customer support.
  • Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the country of employment.
