Job Description:

An exciting career opportunity awaits within the Rigid Frame Trucks Field Studies & Telematics team. As a Performance/Simulation/Application Engineering Team Lead you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our machines deliver the performance, power and reliability our customers expect.

This position will primarily be responsible for leading end to end Data collection & Analysis for Large Mining Trucks , leading field studies supporting the resolution of critical customer issues and providing engineering support to commercial teams. The position will also play an active role in Large Mining Truck (LMT) New Product Integration (NPI) programs starting from requirements all the way through field follow validation.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
  • Manage Data Acquisition configurations, machine connectivity and data flow for Supercomm2/PLE/VIMS across the LMT platform.
  • Coordinate the Software Bundle Development, Verification and Validation activities for Product Link Elite/VIMS, Truck Payload Management, Tire TKPH and Road Analysis Control (RAC) on all LMT Platforms.
  • Provide inputs and guidance to Technology Platform 1.0/2.0 programs on Product Link Elite, VIMS and Advanced Productivity modules.
  • Lead some field and remote performance studies - planning, execution and reporting.
  • Perform machine and fleet level virtual performance assessments
  • Initiating and supporting New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs that impact the LMT platform's short and long-term strategies.
  • Participate in FMEA and Validation workshops
  • Support investigation of Machine Software and Control Strategy performance with regard to CPI/NPI Issue resolution and Machine Performance improvements on the LMT Platform
  • Support marketing on TCO and Cost/Ton calculations and Competitive evaluations
  • Support the team in the planning and execution of Application Profile field studies at customer sites.
  • Support team in the Development and Deployment of Data Acquisition Kits (Supercomm2) across the LMT Platform


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent education.


Top Candidates will also have:

  • Prior machine or system level performance, controls and simulation experience
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems and Software (Supercomm2, PLE etc.)
  • Hands on machine testing experience collecting and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python or similar programming languages
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Automation of Data Analyses
  • Prior engine performance experience
  • Powertrain integration experience
  • Electronics system integration experience
  • Knowledge of competitive machines and engines
  • Knowledge of FEA, multibody dynamic analysis and machine dynamics
  • Knowledge of the APQP process, NPI process and 6 Sigma methodologies
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Experience with cross functional teams
  • Design/analysis/testing experience.


Additional Information:
  • The location for this position is Tucson, Arizona
  • Domestic relocation is available for candidates willing to relocate to Tucson, AZ.
  • This position may require 10-25% travel
  • This position requires working onsite five days a week.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
