OverviewD403 Technical Services is seeking to hire anEngineering Supervisor.
This role will be essential to the development and maintenance of ship systems manuals and component technical manuals for the VIRGINIA, OHIO, and SEAWOLF Classes to ensure the safety and mission readiness of the submarine fleet.
You will be leading a team of writers, editors, and engineers to resolve liabilities with the technical community at Electric Boat and NAVSEA. A positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage a large workload with multiple competing priorities are key in this position.
This role consistently works with retired experienced Navy personnel that provide input and guidance to support the issuance and completeness of specific manuals. You will directly influence supporting submarines getting back out to sea to keep our country safe and ensuring all manuals on board are delivered on time, technically acceptable, and accurate.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Development and maintenance of the Ship Systems Manuals (SSMs) and/or component technical manuals (CTMs) across multiple platforms (approximately 400+ manuals).
- Supervise a diverse group comprised of engineers, editors, and technical writers responsible for the development and issuance of SSMs/CTMs which are critical to the safety and mission readiness of the submarine fleet.
- Ensure that SSMs/CTMs are issued in support of ship's key events allowing submarines to return to sea.
- Engage frequently with NAVSEA customers developing successful relationships to ensure we support the same overall goal.
- Ensure technical accuracy, cost efficiency, and minimizing schedule performance of products.
- Coordinate routinely with engineering management (both inside and outside of the directorate), outside agencies (NUWC, PARMs, etc.), and NAVSEA for development, review, and approval support of the manuals that directly tie to sailors operating the submarine.
- Manage resources, track budgets, and schedules assigned to the group.
- Constant interface with program office to ensure that proper products are getting worked to support the Naval Fleet.
- Ensure configuration management is maintained by the group for all products.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical field
- 4 years of engineering experience

- Experience with logistic technical documentation
- Qualified in submarines
- Experience with NAVSEA/Government collaboration
- Prior leadership experience
- Experience with EVMS
- Experience with Artemis
