Brief Description
ABOUT THE JOB
The Engineering Supervisor provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for the Engineering Division within the Public Works Department. This role is responsible for managing a team of professional engineers, and technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of county infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
As a key leader, you will bridge the gap between high-level policy and technical execution, ensuring all projects comply with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), environmental regulations, and county standards.

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and five (5) years engineering/planning experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess and maintain a professional engineering license valid in the State of Oregon. Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license, automobile insurance, and have access to and use of a personal automobile as a condition of employment.

  • Vacation: New full-time employees generally earn 12 vacation days per year; this increases with years of service. Part-time employees earn a pro-rated amount.
  • Holidays: A generous number of paid holidays annually. This will vary according to bargaining unit.
  • Personal Leave Days: These are floating holidays. The number of Personal Leave Days varies according to bargaining unit.
  • Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (pro-rated for part time) with no maximum accrual.
  • Other Leaves: Jury duty, bereavement, military.
