Job Description

West Point Technical Operations is seeking highly motivated individuals to provide engineering technical support for a vaccine packaging facility. The focus of the role is as a Deviation Management Specialist. This includes authoring incidents and investigations (e.g. identifying point of occurrence and root cause, recommending corrective/preventative actions, assessing product impact, and summarizing investigations in writing). Limited additional shift or weekend coverage may be required based on specific assignments.

The individual in this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Author and support manufacturing investigations aimed to prevent deviation recurrence, including determining the root cause, identifying corrective/preventative actions, identifying event scope, and conducting product impact assessment.

  • Complete investigational test protocols to support identification of the root cause, product impact, and event scope, when appropriate.

  • Effectively communicate with manager and stakeholders about deviation status, including risks to meeting deliverables.

  • Collaborate across IPT functional areas in response to deviations and during the investigative process, including in the development of Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs).

  • Provide on-the-floor support of operational and technical issues, particularly for emerging deviations or potential deviations.

  • Support team and IPT safety, environmental, and compliance objectives.

  • Actively use and champion the use of our company Production System (MPS) tools, both in problem solving and day-to-day work.

  • Execute continuous improvement projects that increase compliance, simplify/standardize operational or technical processes and gain efficiencies.

Required Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biological sciences, packaging science, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Technical writing (e.g. deviations, change control, technical protocols/reports)

  • Problem solving (identifying cause and developing CAPAs)

  • Application of our company Production System (MPS) tools and mindset, both in problem solving and day-to-day operational activities

  • Collaboration across functional groups

The salary range for this role is

$87,300.00 - $137,400.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
