Purpose of the Job

The ERP Implementation Engineer / Specialist serves as a subject matter expert supporting the deployment, optimization, and adoption of Owens Corning's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform across the Doors business. This role partners closely with manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, production control, engineering, and operations teams to standardize business processes, support system configuration, and enable successful implementation through training, change management, and post-go-live support.

The position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and ensuring ERP solutions align with business objectives while supporting long-term scalability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Implementation & Process Design
  • Support ERP system implementation activities across Doors manufacturing locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define, document, and standardize business processes.
  • Participate in system configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure ERP functionality supports operational requirements while aligning with enterprise standards.

Product Configuration & Master Data
  • Partner with business subject matter experts to develop and maintain product configurator rules and supporting master data.
  • Ensure product, routing, and manufacturing data are accurate, sustainable, and scalable within the ERP environment.

Manufacturing & Operations Support
  • Support manufacturing engineering teams in the development of routings, labor standards, work centers, and operational processes.
  • Assist with production scheduling, planning, and shop floor execution processes during ERP implementation and transition activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance through system-enabled process improvements.

Supply Chain & Procurement Integration
  • Collaborate with sourcing, procurement, and supply chain teams to align purchasing and material planning processes within the ERP solution.
  • Support system integration and adoption of procurement best practices across the organization.

Change Management & Training
  • Develop and execute change management plans that support user adoption and business readiness.
  • Create training materials, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and user guides.
  • Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training to end users and business stakeholders.

Hypercare & Business Support
  • Provide implementation support during go-live and stabilization phases.
  • Troubleshoot system, process, and user issues while coordinating resolutions with project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and ERP subject matter expert for assigned functional areas.

Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor ERP performance and business outcomes through established metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and enhanced system utilization.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that increase operational efficiency, data integrity, and user effectiveness.


Minimum Qualifications

Location:Preference for our Charlotte plant location but this position may be based at any Owens Corning Doors manufacturing facility or a designated corporate office location. Significant travel to Doors manufacturing sites is required.

Education

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.

Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Operations, Information Systems, or Business.

Experience

Required:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, supply chain, operations, engineering, or ERP-related environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or major system transformations.
  • Experience within manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Experience with business process mapping, change management, training delivery, or operational excellence initiatives.

Certifications
