Job Description:

Join Caterpillar's Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) Engineering team as the Engineering Project Team Leader - Large Structures, leading global design, analysis, validation, and quality for critical loader structures including Engine End Frame (EEF), Non-Engine End Frame (NEEF), Linkages, Counterweights, and Hitches.

You will guide engineers across the U.S., India, and global partners while shaping MWL structural technology, quality, manufacturing strategy, and product development from concept through production.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead MWL structural design, analysis, validation, and quality for EEF, NEEF, Linkages, Counterweights, and Hitch systems.
  • Coach and develop a global engineering team while providing workload planning and technical leadership.
  • Own structural engineering processes, including design guides, analysis methods, load/model libraries, DFMEAs, and BIQ reviews.
  • Deliver production, NPI, CPI, cost-reduction, and NTI work to quality, timing, and cost commitments.
  • Represent MWL Structures in leadership reviews, gateway reviews, DA3s, Obeya meetings, and technical forums.
  • Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, validation, and CPPD to improve manufacturability, sourcing, and supply assurance.
  • Advance structural technologies such as health monitoring, welding digital thread, weld inspection, and pin wear monitoring.
  • Own structural loads, component- and machine-level analysis, and validation methods across MWL platforms.

  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product management environment.
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

  • Experience managing technical roadmaps, budgets, engineering workload planning, and technology development initiatives.
  • Experience with advanced structural technologies, load development, machine simulation, and virtual validation methods.

  • Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel: 5-10% domestic and international travel is expected.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
