Job Description:

Do you have the drive to help Caterpillar's Excavation Division (EXD) continue to progress towards groundbreaking products and technologies? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a technology integration project leader in our Advanced Engineering Team in Mossville, Illinois.

What You'll Do (Job Duties)
  • Lead system level DMEDI/NPI activities and support DMAIC/CPI activities.
  • Gather requirements from external and internal customers, process partners, and regulatory teams.
  • Create and manage detailed design documentation (systems, software, electronics, harness, iron)
  • Drive hardware and software design requirements through the development, implementation, and validation process.
  • Coordinate with numerous process partners in Cat Technology and within the EXD product group
  • Travel to Caterpillar proving grounds or customer sites for test support when needed
  • Identify areas of improvement for overall product quality
  • Mentor junior systems engineers and new team members


What You Have (Core Skills)
  • Position requires a four-year engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production. Extensive DMEDI/NPI experience developing production safety systems for heavy machinery.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges, extensive experience with automotive-style cameras, radar, ECMs, and in-cab displays. Extensive experience with AIS (Autonomy Infrastructure Software) Linux applications and UI/UX design.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives, global team leadership experience.

  • The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions
  • Experience with CAN and Ethernet protocols, Vector tool suite
  • Experience with TeamCenter and perception sensor virtual analysis tools
  • Experience with Telematics back office or Safety Vision Link Back Office
  • Experience with product publications and product support teams and tools
  • Prime product group experience

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
