Role Definition

Join Caterpillar'sLarge Power Systems Division (LPSD) as anEngineering Project Team Leader, leading the planning, coordination, and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for the C280 platform. This role will focus on theC280 Gen2 NPI programand future product development efforts, driving projects from concept through launch.

The Engineering Project Team Leader will lead complex, cross-functional engineering programs, partnering with teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain,Purchasing, and Validation to deliver products that meet customer and businessobjectives. Success in this role requires strong project leadership, technicalexpertise, and the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions, organizations, and global stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of the C280 Gen2 NPI program and future C280 platform development initiatives.

  • Manage multiple complex engineering projects involving cross-functional teams, organizations, suppliers, and global stakeholders.

  • Drive program execution by managing schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, and key performance metrics.

  • Provide leadership and direction throughout the product development lifecycle, from requirements definition through validation and launch.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, validation,purchasing, and supply chain teams to ensure successful program outcomes.

  • Facilitate resolution of technical, operational, and program-related challenges through structured problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer value.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and technical excellence across the project team.

Technical Excellence:Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Influencing Through Expertise:Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepenownexpertiseand impact or challenge decisions within and outsideownorganization.

Project Management:Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficientutilizationof technical and administrative resources to achieve projectobjectives.

Team Management:Extensive knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Requirements Analysis:Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system.

Product Design and Development:Extensive knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Degree Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum ORdemonstratedprogressive experience indirectly relatedroles.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
