Job Description:

Caterpillar Switchgear, part of the Electric Power Division, currently has an opening for anElectrical Design EngineerlocatedinAlpharetta, Georgia. In this role, you will design,developand build, Low and Medium voltage switchgear for generatorparallelingapplications.

Whatyou willdo:

  • Interpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them while considering industry regulations and NEC, UL 508, UL891,UL1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements

  • Createbillof materials in ERP system

  • Providedirectiontopurchasingand procurement

  • Providedirectionto CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings

  • Support production during equipment manufacturing

  • Write andvalidatePLC code for generator control systems, interfacing with various communication protocols

Degree Requirement:

  • Assistsin the testing and refinement of a new product design.

Product Design and Development:LevelWorking Knowledge:

  • Communicateswith professionals to understand various requirements of product design.

  • Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.

  • Usesautomated tools to design ormodifythe design of a product.

  • Assistsin building a complex prototype of product

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree

  • PLC experience with Schneider and/or Allen Bradley

  • Experienced with UL508A control enclosure design

  • Power Engineering and Multi-Function Relay Programming/Operation

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
