The opportunity
CBC/Radio-Canada operates one of the world’s leading technology infrastructures and one of the largest private networks, which distributes its content and services exclusively across the country. CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a hands-on, detail design-oriented Engineering Project Lead to join our Engineering team, to both lead and take part in projects focused on deploying technology. This is a full-time permanent position, and the successful incumbent would be based in Toronto, working primarily on local projects, with eventual and occasional travel to various other sites nationally.

As our new Engineering Project Lead you will:
Create concept designs for review with our business partners.
Design in detail, innovative, practical solutions to complex problems.
Regularly meet with stakeholders to determine requirements and solutions.
Create and track the schedules and budgets; monitoring progress.
Prepare schematic, layout drawings and installation instructions.
Oversee the procurement from writing proposals to evaluating tender responses.
Responsible for the implementation phase.
Verify system performance and ensure that identified deficiencies are rectified
Prepare documentation for ongoing operation and maintenance of facilities.
What you bring:
Years of Experience. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in design and implementation of various IT infrastructure
Expertise in advanced network architecture and design, with extensive hands-on experience implementing, supporting enterprise-class networking solutions and real-time applications.
Hands-on expertise with Cisco and Arista technologies across datacenter infrastructure, campus networks, and a wide range of network services.
Proficient in Automation large-scale network deployments and implementing modifications to support multicast and real-time data streams.
Comprehensive knowledge of complex routing protocols, Wi-Fi solutions, authentication mechanisms, WAN technologies, multicast, and the development/enforcement of network security policies.
Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Engineering (or equivalent Diploma in Applied Science and Technology).
Project Management capabilities, with preference for Agile methodologies and experience delivering complex IT/Telecom initiatives.
Professional accreditation: Membership, or eligibility for membership, in a provincial engineering association (PEO, OIQ, etc.) is mandatory.
Bilingual communication: English with strong verbal and written skills, enabling effective influence and collaboration across technical and business stakeholders. French is considered an asset.
Analytical and problem-solving expertise, able to evaluate complex technical issues, design innovative solutions, remove roadblocks, and deliver both short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
Collaboration and leadership skills, fostering strong relationships with peers, clients, management, and vendors, while translating technical requirements into clear business value.
Multitasking and organizational ability, successfully managing multiple projects at varying stages without compromising detail or quality.
Adaptability and continuous learning, with the ability to quickly adopt new tools and technologies while keeping current with industry best practices.
Flexibility to travel as required, including across CBC/Radio-Canada locations, to oversee and support project delivery phases.
