Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager is at the forefront of robotics and AI, working with a team of experts to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve our customers' operational efficiency and productivity. Responsibilities include:

  1. Oversee a team of technical Software Engineers, understanding all team members' strengths, weaknesses, and areas of focus.
  2. Conduct regular meetings with key-component leads to assess their needs and provide support.
  3. Manage team performance.
  4. Lead sprints and ensure clear communication, understanding of tasks and deadlines.
  5. Manage development platform availability and optimal usage aligning with project needs and priorities.
  6. Coordinate with adjacent, service providing teams, to ensure program success.
  7. Manage development and coordination of customer demonstrations.
  8. Develop guidance and support product manufacturing and commissioning.
  9. Develop guidance and support product deployments to the field.
  10. Maintain a deep technical understanding of the software and hardware comprising the robotic solutions. Capable of contributing to troubleshooting, commissioning, and general fielded product success.


Telecommuting is an option as long as the employee is based in the Bedford, MA region as the employee must conduct regular visits to company offices in the Bedford, MA region.

Salary: Two hundred fifty-five thousand dollars to two hundred sixty-five thousand dollars per year.

Travel Requirement: At least 5% domestic travel per year.

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:

The employer requires at least a bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related field, and eight (8) years of progressively more responsible work experience developing

software in a commercial environment. Alternatively, the employer requires at least a masters degree in computer science or a closely related field, and six (6) years of progressively more responsible work experience developing software in a commercial environment. In addition, the employer also requires:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of Python or C++ in the SDLC (software development lifecycle) gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of Version Control Systems (VCS) such as Git, or similar VCS gained through at least two (2) years of work experience.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of system programming utilizing the Linux operating system gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
  4. Demonstrated ability providing technical leadership within a software development team gained through at least three (3) years of work experience in a software technical lead role.
  5. Demonstrated ability developing software utilizing modern best practices such as sprint planning, unit testing, design and code reviews, reusable patterns, and appropriate documentation gained through at least four (4) years of work experience within an Agile software environment.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of robotics, parallel and distributed processing, machine learning, or hardware control gained through at least three (3) years of work experience.


All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
