Description

The Engineering Manager leads day-to-day engineering execution and people leadership for the Engineering team to deliver engineered solutions that meet customer requirements, quality standards, cost targets, and production feasibility. This role manages engineering workflows, documentation, and design standards; partners closely with Project Management, Production, Quality, and Sales to resolve technical issues and support on-time project delivery; and drives continuous improvement in tools, processes, and team capability.

Responsibilities not limited to:
  • Plan, assign, and prioritize engineering work to support project schedules and customer commitments; lead regular team check-ins and provide clear status updates, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and documentation practices for engineered solutions; ensure drawings, bills of material, and supporting calculations are accurate, controlled, and released on time.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to resolve design challenges, manufacturing feasibility issues, and field/customer technical questions; coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Project Management, and Sales to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable standards; support estimating and proposal efforts with technical input when required.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen engineering processes, tools, and training (e.g., CAD standards, templates, revision control, design reviews, lessons learned).
  • Hire, coach, and develop engineering staff; conduct performance conversations, goal setting, and training plans in accordance with company policy; foster a collaborative, accountable, safety-minded team culture aligned with company Core Values.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of engineering/design experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
  • Experience managing projects, engineering changes, and documentation in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Autodesk (AutoCAD) and/or other design tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Strong communication skills, able to work across customers, production, and non-technical teams
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
