Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building novel product features to help members discover and connect with stories they'll love, on Netflix's flagship TV application. In addition to shaping technical decisions, you will act as a dedicated engineering partner to one or more of our product managers, collaborating cross-functionally to continuously improve the Netflix member experience on hundreds of millions of TV devices.

What you'll do
  • Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support individual growth and performance through regular feedback, coaching, and career development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features and improvements.
  • Technical Oversight: Drive a culture of engineering excellence where impact is multiplied through GenAI, balancing product innovation with long-term technical health and maintainability. Advocate for a risk-based approach to product quality.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables, navigating feature, scope and timeline tradeoffs.
  • User Experience Focus: Champion the user experience, ensuring that all features and updates enhance the overall experience for our members. We validate our judgment by A/B testing product variants with real customers, instead of assuming we know what is best.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay abreast of the evolving trends, experimenting with GenAI to find ways it can transform how we work.
  • Culture Leadership: Be a role model of and advocate for Netflix culture.

  • Collaboration: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams.
  • User-Centric Approach: Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a deep understanding of user interface design principles, and an active interest in how real members use Netflix through consumer insights and a/b test analysis..
  • Experience working with remote and/or distributed teams is a plus.

Why join Netflix?
