Full Job Description
The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a wide-ranging and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.

As a core component of EED, the Emerging Missions Flight Dynamics Department provides flight mechanics expertise for missiles, hypersonic glide, re-entry, and space vehicles. This includes expertise in orbital mechanics, multi-body dynamical systems, multi-objective trajectory optimization, and atmospheric flight modeling and simulation. The department is a critical integration partner for a wide range of engineering disciplines to facilitate the company's mission of providing multi-disciplinary insights. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the department's work in the multi-objective optimization of space vehicle orbits, trajectories, and tactics that support national security space operations.

Work Model

  • This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA , Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA, requiring at least four days on-site.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with ETG stakeholders, program offices, and U.S. government customers including SSC, SSDP, and the Intelligence Community to provide expertise on national security missions


  • Design and implement a strategic vision with department leadership for the sustainment and development of functional area capabilities, staffing, and resources


  • Steward innovative internal investments that address emerging customer needs


  • Lead workforce development initiatives including recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and retention strategies


  • Effectively manage staff workloads and performance


  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence


What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or applicable STEM areas


  • Typically, 8 years of applicable professional or educational experience is desired


  • Current, active TS/SCI access and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SAP access


  • Willingness to travel domestically based on organizational and customer needs


How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in an applicable STEM field


  • Previous people or project management experience which could include staff recruitment and development, performance management, conflict resolution, organizational planning, and/or resource management


  • Current TS/SAP access

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
