What this role tends to look like:
  • Leading and growing a team of engineers (typically 5-10), with real ownership over their growth and performance
  • Balancing people leadership with enough technical depth to stay credible in design discussions and code reviews
  • Partnering with product management to turn strategy into a clear, achievable roadmap
  • Building a healthy team culture - one where people do their best work and want to stick around
  • Hiring, coaching, and sometimes making the hard calls when performance isn't there
  • Removing blockers so your team can focus on shipping

What we look for:
  • Prior experience managing engineers, ideally 2+ years, with a track record of retaining and developing talent
  • A strong engineering background - you don't need to be hands-on daily, but you should understand the work deeply
  • Clear, empathetic communication and a coaching mindset
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the judgment to prioritize ruthlessly
  • A track record of shipping meaningful things through a team, not just individually
