Responsibilities

  • Set priorities for the Engineering and Reliability Departments' daily activities

  • Provide engineering support for upgrades and new projects
  • Recommend pay increases based on personnel evaluations
  • Conduct performance reviews for Reliability Department personnel
  • Enforce safety and environmental compliance across the departments
  • Allocate resources for necessary corporate project support.

Job Description

Purpose: To plan, organize and direct the activities of the Engineering Group and Reliability Departments

Responsibilities:

1. Set priorities and direct the Engineering Group and Reliability Departments in day-to-day activities.

2. Work with engineering group to develop and implement capital projects that will reduce costs and improve operating efficiency.

3. Work with Building and Systems Maintenance to establish yearly as well as utilities budget for the entire plant.

4. Evaluate daily and monthly downtime and efficiency reports to determine productivity levels.

5. Provide engineering for upgrades, replacements, new systems, equipment, and construction projects.

6. Evaluate Engineering Group and Reliability Department personnel merits for annual pay increases and make recommendations to Executive Group.

7. Oversee performance reviews for Reliability Department personnel and personally review engineers.

8. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.

9. Allocate resources to provide support for corporate project as necessary.

Authorities:

1. Request capital project funds using the CapEx database

2. Manage all capital projects for direct reports

3. Enter purchase requisitions and manage capital spending using JD Edwards software

4. Review and approve purchase requisitions made by direct reports

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

2. Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.

3. Previous supervisory work experience.

4. Skilled in planning and budgeting for department activities.

5. Proficient in delegating tasks throughout the department to insure efficient use of resources.

6. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

1. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 - 12 point font at a distance of 12 - 18 inches.
