Overall Responsibility:Manages and directs activities of an engineering department to deliver high-quality software solutions
Key Areas of Responsibility:Technical Leadership- Own team's technical direction by developing and maintaining Technical Development Plans and Technical Risk Registers
- Develop and maintain procedures to ensure quality standards
- Direct architectural software designs and their implementation per customer requirements and design constraints
- Implement technical innovations to improve team processes and development
Team Leadership- Build high-performing engineering teams and a culture of growth, ownership, and technical excellence with clear expectations for execution and collaboration
- Provide regular, actionable feedback and coaching to support growth and address performance issues constructively
Cross-Functional Leadership- Own delivery outcomes by maintaining program roadmaps aligned with project milestones and ensuring stakeholder alignment on team priorities and critical path
- Support proposal efforts by contributing to Technical Volumes and creating technical estimates
Qualifications:- BS Degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, related degree, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience developing software, with 2+ years leading software engineering teams
- Strong background designing and operating complex, distributed systems at scale.
- Proficiency in one or more of C#, C++, or Java
- Familiarity with modern Software Engineering practices, including but not limited to Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and performance monitoring
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics for audiences from ICs to executives
Physical Requirements:- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods
- Frequently communicates with clients, team members, etc.
- Travel is required as dictated by project needs
