Role Definition

Caterpillar is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the SC2 Command Center team within Engineering Data Acquisition & Analytics. This team plays a critical role in delivering machine data that supports product development, validation, analytics, and enterprise decision-making across Caterpillar.

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists responsible for the acquisition, management, validation, and delivery of machine connectivity and telematics data. This position requires a balance of people leadership, technical leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration with product groups, data analytics teams, software organizations, and business partners.

As the manager of the SuperComm Command Center team, you will be responsible for enabling reliable access to machine-generated data while driving continuous improvement of the systems, processes, and technologies that support Caterpillar's digital and analytics strategy.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technical professionals supporting SC2 data platforms and services.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership for machine connectivity and engineering data acquisition solutions.
  • Oversee systems and processes used to collect, validate, manage, and distribute machine telematics and operational data.
  • Drive reliability, scalability, and quality improvements across data acquisition platforms and supporting infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering, analytics, software, and product teams to define priorities and deliver business value.
  • Manage project execution, resource planning, budgeting, and staffing activities.
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
  • Support enterprise initiatives focused on data-driven engineering, machine insights, connectivity, and digital transformation.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead teams and projects that span multiple geographic locations and business organizations.


Degree Requirement

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field.

  • Familiarity with Caterpillar machine data systems and engineering data processes.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
