Job DescriptionManage Engineering and Maintenance resources, equipment and materials to support plant operations by implementing capital projects aimed to advance the manufacturing process by reducing cost, waste and improve efficiency, quality and safety.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
- Acts and performs as an interface between maintenance, manufacturing, contractors, and engineering.
- Establish and monitor staff performance and development to include goal setting, identifying improvement targets for KPI’s and performance management.
- Responsible for educating contractors on company policy and procedures.
- Engineering -
- Prepares plant capital budget and initiates capital projects to include engineering requests, engineering estimates, account numbers, authorization for capital expenditures and capital project requests
- Works with internal and external resources to provide solutions and improvements to machines, equipment, and facility to meet plant goals, reduce costs, ensure safety compliance and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
- Develops specifications for production equipment; assists in the selection, purchase, and installation of the equipment in the plant.
- Follows capital projects from the initial idea through implementation into the plant.
- Maintains capital project cost tracking and reports quarterly expenditures.
- Develops and follows project schedules for implementing equipment into the plant.
- Leads the PM Pillar and launches teams to improve equipment reliability
- Maintenance –
- Monitors spare parts and supply minimum and maximums to ensure a just-in-time inventory is maintained and obsolete parts are recommended for obsolescence in a timely manner.
- Ensures equipment is maintained and in good working condition by scheduling timely and routine preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
- Manages activities and maintenance of grounds, building and parking lots
- Develops and outlines a program of continuous improvement for the maintenance department including the PM program.
- Ensure the security, fire, and emergency systems are fully operational, routinely tested, and inspected.
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring facility utilities and implementing energy saving initiatives.
- Scheduling of internal maintenance work orders and coordination with outside vendors. Understanding internal limitations and securing outside expertise.
- Promotes a strong safety culture and demonstrates adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate and foster Bemis Core Values and actively contributes to a high performance culture.
- Facilitate and enforces all company policies and procedures.
- Meet or exceed plant business plan and KPI’s.
- Integrate WCOM initiatives into the culture of the Plant.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- Education: BS Engineering required.
- A minimum of 10 years related Engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills to include MS Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD or equivalents.
- Industrial mechanical, electrical, pneumatic experience.
