Summary:
The Engineering Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Area Director of Engineering to help lead and support the maintenance colleagues and ensure facilities and systems operate properly.The Engineering Maintenance Manager will oversee the daily operation of the entire resort facilities, including the physical building structures, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, refrigeration, kitchens and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventive maintenance programs.Ensure the guest and colleague areas reflect a proactively maintained esthetic. This person will be responsible for trainings and coaching/mentoring hourly Engineering staff under the direction of the Area Director of Engineering. This person must remain open in communication with the Area Director of Engineering. Flexibility in scheduling - including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays - is required.
You'll partner closely with the Area Director of Engineering to ensure the property operates seamlessly balancing technical expertise, team leadership, and a strong sense of ownership. Additional responsibilities include working closely with vendors, processing invoices, and completing payroll items.

The salary range for this position is $70,304.00-$109,800.00. This is the pay range for this position that The Seabird Resort reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have a potential of risk to your health or safety. The following is a list of some of the devices required. This is only a sample list and is not to be all-inclusive do to the nature of the work conductive to the Engineering Department.
• Protective gloves, eye protection, breathing protection, hearing protection, lock-out/tag-out protection and any other equipment as necessary to provide a safe working environment.
All work duties conducted by Engineering personal will be evaluated and regular scheduled training and refresher training will be conducted as required by law. Associates will be trained as to the use and care of any and all required PPE equipment. The hotel provides this required PPE and it is the responsibility of engineer to wear this equipment as it relates to daily work assignments. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE to your Manager.
• Follow all Safety Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
• Strong leadership and team development skills to effectively communicate with colleagues
• 5-7 years in a major resort, hospital, or building, including at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong background in the following: HVAC (VRF Systems), refrigeration, commercial kitchens (hot and cold side), boilers, plumbing, electrical and laundry.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
• Ensure proper execution of work orders/system requestsin a timely manner
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures to ensure an efficient department.
• Inspects and observes equipment in operation for defects, locates causes of trouble in equipment or functionality and troubleshoots as appropriate.
• Must be self-motivated and a problem solver.
• Ensures Engineer Colleagues maintain clean, organized and safe working areas
• Requires advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
• Exceptional time management, detail driven and organizational process planning.
• Professional demeanor with exceptional verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
Physical Demands:
• Long hours sometimes required, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long hours at a time and to work in confined spaces as necessary.
• Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.;
• Ability to walk and stand for long hours and comfortable working with all heights. Must be able to climb ladders, etc.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat); with exposure to chemicals and dust.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements and simple grasping constantly; pushing & pulling, squeezing and overhead reaching frequently.
