About the Role

The Engineering Team Lead oversees and coordinates the daily operations of a customer-specific engineering team while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met. The Team Lead also assists end users, architects, engineers, contractors and distributors with comprehensive technical support on the use of Tate's product offerings in both new and retrofit Data Center applications. The Team Lead also provides guidance on the implementation of best practices to maximize energy efficiency and effectiveness. The Team Lead uses 3D modeling to maintain customer designs and deliver certain project requirements. This role ensures that each customer-specific team adheres to the greater team's processes and standards.

What You'll Do

  • Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.
  • Facilitates communication among project managers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Serves as product owner for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.

  • Serves as a project engineer for multiple projects, creating submittal documents, part numbers, BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and packing plans where team bandwidth requires.

  • Implements and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; this knowledge applies to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
  • Assists in product testing and evaluation, both physically and with the use of FEA software tools.
  • Evaluates construction specifications and provides product recommendations to meet project requirements.
  • Assists in the development of whitepapers that support the use of raised access flooring and structural containment and their peripheral products.
  • Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.


Additional Expectation

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.

  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.

  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.

  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.


What You'll Bring

  • 4-year degree in the Engineering field.

  • 4-7 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience completing electrical infrastructure surveys and measurements a plus.

  • General knowledge base of server technology and associated hardware required.

  • General knowledge is based on cooling technologies and strategies to condition the Data Center environment required.

  • Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).

  • 3D modeling experience required. OnShape and SolidWorks preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills are required.
