Full Job Description
Engineering Laboratory Technician

Job Summary: Complete testing and evaluation of various electro-mechanical and electronic automotive products based on internally generated specifications, industry standards and work requests initiated by an Engineering Product Development Center.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assembles or builds test set-ups for the evaluation of both manufactured and purchased products.
Performs product testing per request. Writes test reports including data, general findings and observations.
Read and comprehend complex specifications or schematics defined on engineering drawings or documented specifications.
Contribute to the analysis of competitor products. Performs and reports on product failure mode analysis.
Contributes to maintaining an organized lab work environment.
Capable of using various hand tools, simple machines and measuring devices.
Able to use laboratory scope, function generator, power supply and other electrical equipment.

Qualifications:
Minimum of Associates Degree or BS Degree in Engineering Technology.
Strong background in electrical circuits. Emphasis on creating CAD model with the aid of SolidWorks or similar design tools.
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
Organized and detail oriented for developing accurate product test results. Automotive interest or background is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering or automotive technology is preferred.
Ability to read, write and speak English.

ADA Requirements:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; reviewing detailed information; viewing a computer terminal; and expansive reading.
Ability to work for extended periods sitting and looking at computer while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
The ability to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000- $95,000.
