Job Title: Engineering Director
Location: Orlando, Florida
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $105,000.00 to $180,000.00
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote
Overview The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing, overseeing, and utilizing functional authority for operation, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of all projects or process-related activities of engineering design or commissioning.
Responsibilities - Lead and oversee engineering projects, including design and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project schedules.
- Manage a team of project managers, engineers, technical staff, commissioning agents, and technicians to deliver high-quality building designs and commissioning services.
- Delegate projects based on team members' expertise and project needs, ensuring efficient task distribution and accountability.
- Review engineering designs, process specifications, and commissioning standards for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors, and identify new business opportunities through successful project delivery.
Responsibilities - Guide the design and commissioning teams to support project timelines and quality standards.
- Review and approve engineering documentation, standards, and process procedures.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure efficient resource utilization and project execution.
- Travel approximately 30% of the time to job sites and office locations, including under construction sites and meetings.
- Attend job site meetings, perform site inspections, and verify project progress and safety protocols.
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year program.
- Acceptable Degree Alternatives: Engineering Technology / Construction Management Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager or 15 years of experience in project management within the industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead presentations and business development efforts.
- Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and competitors.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
