Full Job Description
RVA is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer to join their Land Development team either in Halton or Niagara . The role will involve all facets of land development engineering including preliminary servicing studies, design of site servicing, grading, drainage & stormwater management, utility engineering, and construction related services. Duties: - Preparation of preliminary engineering and feasibility studies. - Detailed design of servicing, grading, drainage, and stormwater management. - Preparation of spreadsheet-based calculations. - Preparation of functional servicing and stormwater management reports. - Production of design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D. - Pre-design site reconnaissance and surveys. - Assist with quantity calculations and preparation of tender documents. - Coordinate with clients, external and internal project teams to meet deadlines. - Liaise with external stakeholders (i.e. municipalities) to secure permits/approvals. - Carrying out contract administration related duties. - Perform part-time and full-time construction site review including preparation of site diary and site review report on an opportunistic basis. - Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position. Qualifications: - Must be a graduate of civil engineering degree program at an accredited University - 2 to 5 years of experience with Land development Engineering in an engineering consultancy. - Possesses a strong knowledge of AutoDesk Civil 3D. - Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients. - Operates as a self starter, taking initiative to drive pursuits and projects forward, within a collaborative team framework. - Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets and other skills appropriate to consulting. - Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents. - Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on site servicing, grading, drainage. - Familiar with local design and construction standards and requirements for permits and approvals. - Demonstrates superior oral and written English communication skills. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
