Full Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Analyst II contributes to product development by owning simulation tasks and applying engineering analysis tools to evaluate and improve product performance. This role demonstrates growing autonomy and technical depth while collaborating across teams to support design decisions.

Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Perform simulations and analyses to support product design and development.
  • Prepare and run finite element models using established tools and processes.
  • Document and communicate simulation results to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret results and recommend design modifications.
  • Maintain simulation databases and ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide analytical input.
  • Support test correlation efforts by comparing simulation results with physical test data.
  • Apply internal simulation standards and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of simulation workflows and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as ANSYS or similar.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


WHAT WILL HELP
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Experience with statistical methods or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience with data visualization techniques or reporting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with version control systems or data management tools (e.g., Git, PLM systems).
  • Interest in mentoring or supporting junior analysts on simulation best practices.

This role plays a key role in product development by applying mechanical simulation tools and techniques to evaluate design performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support data-driven engineering decisions.
