Job Summary

At GA-EMS - Optical Sensor Systems, we design, build, and test advanced electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) space payload that power next-generation remote-sensing systems. You'll join a multidisciplinary team tackling technically challenging problems in a collaborative, hands-on environment.. The Embedded Software Engineer will work closely with Software and Electrical Engineering teams on the embedded software team in Acton, MA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, implement and verify embedded software running on a Xilinx SoC platform.
  • System debug, including hardware, software, firmware, and communications protocol.
  • Writing software to support automated verification of the software running on hardware
  • May be required to make technical presentations to project staff and customers.
  • Provide direction to design staff or technicians.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Experience with developing for and debugging on Xilinx SoC platforms
  • Experience with Xilinx tools desirable
  • Experience with EOIR systems preferred

  • Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience.
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
  • A DoD Security Clearance is desired with the ability to obtain a clearance required
