The Role

This position is intended for the Software Configuration Management and Development (SwCMD) group within the Networks, Software, and Cybersecurity E50. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging database software applications for internal process improvement applications to support the engineering department. In addition to the above, this position is expected to assist in technical leadership through daily activities, to include preparation and/or review of interdepartmental memos, process guidelines, testing documentation, code, etc. This position regularly communicates with the whole department and other NNS departments via email, phone, and meetings.

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
