Job Summary

McLaren Engineering is seeking a Process Engineer to support the continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization of engineering processes and procedures across the organization. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong engineering background who is passionate about improving how engineering work is planned, executed, documented, and governed. The Process Engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, program management, and leadership to develop, implement, and maintain processes that drive efficiency, consistency, quality, and compliance. This position requires strong technical comprehension to effectively translate engineering needs into practical, repeatable workflows.

Responsibility

  • Develop, document, and maintain standardized global engineering processes, templates, procedures, workflows, and best practices across disciplines.
  • Lead the rollout of new or revised processes through training, change management, and communication efforts.
  • Partner with the Director of Program Management & PMO to align engineering processes with program delivery, business objectives, and organizational strategy.
  • Establish and maintain process governance, including version control, approvals, audits, and compliance tracking.
  • Evaluate current state engineering workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, or inconsistencies.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and predictability.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to ensure processes support innovation while maintaining technical rigor and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop process metrics and dashboards to monitor performance, adoption, and effectiveness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for engineering process-related inquiries and improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audits related to engineering processes, quality, or certifications as applicable.
  • Works closely with PMO and site administrator in development and maintenance of McLaren Launchpad

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field


Required Skills/Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in engineering, engineering operations, process improvement, or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle processes, from concept through pursuit, design, review, and launch.
  • Experience developing and documenting processes, procedures, and standards in a technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, identify root causes, and implement practical improvements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
