About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Engineer or Engineer in Training, Mining, isresponsible for developing and optimizing strategic mid-range plans at Elkview Operations. The role involves executing all aspects of mid-range planningincluding pit, spoil, and haul road design optimizations, 2-5 year schedules, strategicevaluations, all while considering potential impacts to sustainable development. This role is anexcellent opportunity for an engineer looking to make a positive impact on the business.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Execute on a wide range of mine planning deliverables including pit, spoil, and haulage design whileconsidering potential sustainable development impacts
  • Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results
  • Influence site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound miningpractices
  • Perform economic evaluations, productivity analyses,strategic planning assessments, and peer reviews
  • Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business unit
  • Assist in developing mine permit applications and amendments and ensure mine plans arefollowing permit compliance


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC);EVR will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
  • Proficiency in mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions, and mine design softwaresuch as Minesight 3D
  • Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work under minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent


Salary: $91,300 to $126,800 CAD/year

For applicants registered as an EIT or GIT, annual base salary will be determined by EVR's formal progression matrix based on verified relevant years of experience.

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
