Currently, we are seeking a qualified
Mechanical Engineer to work collaboratively with our Fabrication Shop in
Anderson, California .
About the Position - Design and rebuild lumber manufacturing equipment
- Coordinate the development and improvement of lumber processing equipment
- Effectively model detailed concepts and designs using 3D modeling software
- Provide leadership and direction to fabricators, assemblers, machinists, and shop personnel
- Work with company operations to understand complete application and needs
- Coordinate activities relative to the development of new equipment
- Plan and supervise equipment installation, upgrades, and start-ups
- Work to continuously learn and improve knowledge of industry and equipment
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 5 years' significantly equivalent experience
- 3 years' experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design
- 3 years' working experience with SolidWorks software required, FEA analysis-experienced is a plus
- Machine center alignment and installation experience
- Knowledge of hydraulics, drives, welding, fabrication, and machining preferred
- Able to contribute creative solutions and succeed in an innovative environment
- Possess strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $70,000 and $115,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
