What you will do

At Volvo as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.

You will be the Process Owner for one of our Manufacturing Assembly Lines.

You will join a very diverse team of high functioning Engineers with nearly 100yrs of experience.

  • Experience applying the Volvo Production System (VPS) and Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance while supporting current and future production demands.
  • The ability to support the launch of new products and implement engineering changes that ensure a smooth transition into production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing issues related to materials, processes, equipment, tooling, and production flow.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across functions, serving as a key liaison between Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Production, and other support organizations.
  • Experience performing line balancing, identifying and eliminating Non-Value-Added Activities (NVAA), and driving continuous improvement using Lean tools to improve Overall Labor Effectiveness (OLE), Hours Per Unit (HPU), and other departmental KPIs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining standardized work and time studies using AVIX or similar time and motion analysis software.
  • The ability to identify equipment and tooling requirements, develop implementation plans, and coordinate successful installation and startup with Maintenance and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills utilizing structured methodologies such as 5 Why, 5W1H, 4M, Fishbone Diagrams, and other continuous improvement tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, build relationships, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and developing innovative manufacturing solutions.

For this position, the base pay is set at $85,000 - $100,000 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
