Full Job Description
Our Water/Wastewater Group in Richmond is looking for an Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform design for water and wastewater projects, including pipelines and pump stations for water distribution systems and sewage collection systems. This is an opportunity to work with a team of experienced engineers and project managers in a truly collaborative environment to support our municipal clients.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare designs and design calculations for water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and other projects within water and wastewater systems
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems
  • Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Perform field testing and investigations
  • Support construction projects with engineering services, such as submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, and change requests
  • Assist with task management activities for select tasks
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate within project teams including other RK&K disciplines and subconsultants

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
  • One (1) to five (5) years of experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems, facilities, and infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, and pump stations)
  • A self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of water and wastewater projects
  • FE/EIT Certification, or ability to obtain within a year of employment, and intention to progress to PE Certification

Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills; MicroStation will be a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint
