Engineer II, Vehicle Applications

Location: Riverside, CA

Salary Range: $91,150 - 110,790

Position Summary

Responsible for leading the integration of customer-specific configurations and options into the ENC bus product lines. This role ensures that each bus meets customer requirements while aligning with manufacturing capabilities and regulatory compliance. The position works cross-functionally with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to translate customer specifications into practical engineering solutions that can be efficiently built and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned customer programs and vehicle configurations, and systems into base bus platforms.
  • Analyze customer specifications, RFPs, and contract requirements to determine technical feasibility, design impacts, and compliance requirements.
  • Verify vendor quotes to meet technical requirements and evaluate engineering feasibility and recommend technical solutions.
  • Generate and approve: CAD models, Drawings, BOMs, Vehicle technical summary (VTS), ECNs
  • Coordinate engineering activities between: Sales, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Vendors
  • Support proposal development, create and maintain vendor specification sheets, bid submittals and participate in technical reviews.
  • Act as technical liaison between internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support standardization and modular design initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers on daily activities.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or transportation environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying customer specifications to engineering designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with vehicle manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA principles, and configuration control.
  • Knowledge of FMVSS, ADA, and other applicable vehicle regulations is a plus.
  • Skilled in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and PLM systems are a plus


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with custom vehicle design, bus or truck industry experience preferred.
  • Project or program engineering experience is a strong plus.


Work Environment:
  • This is an onsite position based in Riverside, CA and requires being onsite.
