Mechanical Power Conversion has an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious future leader. Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) is growing due to high customer demand and needs a Sustaining Engineer. In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, quality, purchasing, etc. to support production programs across a variety of technologies.
As part of the project engineer role you will be responsible for maintaining engineering support to the production organization to ensure deliveries and commitments are met. You will manage internal and external customer relationships while maintaining constant communication to the sustaining team and management. Additionally, the role requires a strong understanding of mechanical components and assemblies. Furthermore, this role will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the financial success of our site. MPC is on the lookout for an ambitious candidate who is a superb communicator with strong technical skills and who wants to make an impact in the aerospace industry.
What You Will Do- Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership
- Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations
- Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability
- Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project
- Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
- Prepare project estimates and project plans.
- Manage project schedule, budgets and status. Plan, direct and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT).
- Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.
- Understand and execute test procedures. Analyze, interpret, and report out test results
- Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks
- Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives
- Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing releases
- Documents best practices into engineering standard work.
Qualifications You Must Have - Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
