Full Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Engineer II role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting modern full-stack applications using Angular for responsive user interfaces and Spring Boot for scalable, high-performing backend services. This role is responsible for building and enhancing web-based solutions that support complex business processes, developing RESTful APIs and microservices, and ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems. The Engineer II implements reusable components, follows established architectural patterns and development standards, and collaborates closely with product owners, architects, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software. The role also supports application maintenance, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and continuous improvement to ensure reliability, scalability, and a positive user experience.

The base salary range for this role is $113,200 - $195,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using Angular for responsive user interfaces and Spring Boot for scalable, high-performing APIs and microservices.
• Build and enhance Azure cloud-native and on-premises applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with established architectural standards.
• Develop reusable frontend components and backend services using modular design principles, supporting maintainability, consistency, and efficient delivery.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Translate UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into high-quality user experiences using tools such as Figma, ensuring seamless integration with backend APIs and data models.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and MCP-based integrations, to improve developer productivity, accelerate delivery, and maintain code quality.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins to support reliable software releases.
• Apply secure coding practices, accessibility standards, responsive design principles, API best practices, and coding standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot, support, and enhance applications in production environments, ensuring high levels of performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
• Develop solutions that support complex retail business processes and customer-facing experiences, partnering with stakeholders to deliver business-aligned outcomes.
• Assist in the development and integration of AI-powered features and services into custom applications, collaborating with architects and engineering teams to deliver intelligent, business-focused user experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
• 7 years of experience in software engineering with hands-on full-stack application development experience across frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Angular and Spring Boot, with experience developing enterprise web applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience developing cloud-native and hybrid applications, preferably using Microsoft Azure technologies and services.
• Solid understanding of modern application architecture principles, including component-based UI development, event-driven architectures, system integration, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Experience with UI/UX implementation and collaboration tools such as Figma, with the ability to translate designs into intuitive, responsive, and accessible user experiences.
• Proficiency with source control, automated testing, and CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, MCP-based tooling, or similar technologies) to improve developer productivity and code quality.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in Agile teams and contribute to technical discussions and solution delivery.
PREFERRED:
• Experience developing or integrating AI-enabled application capabilities using Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or similar generative AI technologies.
• Experience with Azure services and enterprise integration technologies, including App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, MuleSoft, or similar platforms.
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification or experience supporting retail business applications and customer-facing digital solutions.

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
