We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to the development and production of advanced aerospace systems. The ideal candidate enjoys working with rotating mechanical hardware, electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical systems, and thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across the product lifecycle-from development and mechanical design to manufacturing support, troubleshooting, testing, and qualifications. You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and production teams to identify root causes, resolve challenging hardware issues, and help deliver reliable, high-quality aerospace products.

This role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys turning complex problems into practical solutions, working with cross-functional teams, and seeing their work directly impact the performance and reliability of aerospace hardware.

What You Will Do

  • Support the production of Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems, including air-driven turbines, angle gearboxes, hydraulic pumps, and linear hydraulic actuators with locking and release mechanisms.

  • Provide engineering and manufacturing support to suppliers and Collin's production sites to resolve issues affecting hardware producibility, quality, and yield.

  • Investigate electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical hardware acceptance test failures and production issues to identify root causes and drive effective corrective actions.

  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing, operational, and test-related hardware issues.

  • Participate in product and component development activities, including cost estimates, standard specifications, drawing layouts, and performance and maintenance requirements.

  • Perform hardware analysis and mechanical design for RAT systems and related aerospace applications.

  • Support qualification and performance testing to ensure hardware meets engineering and customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supplier, and production teams to develop and implement practical solutions.

  • Apply strong problem-solving and engineering judgment to improve hardware reliability, manufacturability, quality, and performance.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Experience analyzing rotating mechanical hardware and complex mechanical systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware manufacturing, operational, and test-related issues.

  • Experience supporting product and component development, including qualification testing, performance testing, and environmental testing.

  • Understanding of electric machines and rotating mechanical hardware.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
