As a Manufacturing Engineer at MMT, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless communication and operational efficiency across departments. This position will work directly with the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize production processes, enhance quality control, and deliver superior products.

Essential Functions:
  • Works with Engineering Manager to deliver business objectives
  • Manage machine builds in conjunction with supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Analyze existing materials and methods of manufacture to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and train on Lean Mfg Tools like VSM, 6S, Visual Mgmt, Single piece flow, GEMBA, SMED, and others.
  • Assist in driving a culture of Safety and Efficiency
  • Assist in costing of CI projects and impact on new and current products.
  • Work closely with design engineers to aid in Design for Manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to ensure product quality
  • Performs other duties as directed


Position Requirements:
  • 4+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
  • 2+ years of Continuous Improvement/Lean experience. Six Sigma Black Belt required
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with in-depth understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience in machine tool manufacturing a plus.
  • Experience with machining metal highly desired including experience with castings a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality lab inspection equipment such as optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, bore gages etc.
  • Understanding of ERP, BOM's and routers, Epicor a plus


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 4 years post college graduate or equivalent experience required. Experience in machine tools a plus.
  • Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design.
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings with in-depth understand of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with machining metal required. Experience with castings a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of quality lab inspection equipment such as optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, bore gages etc..
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual should enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic and results orientated team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally and externally as required.
  • The ability to communicate clearly in leading training sessions to enhance team performance and skills.
  • Knowledgeable in financial impact analysis and skilled in executing Continuous Improvement (CI) practices to optimize operational expenses
  • Strong lean manufacturing knowledge, with green belt or black belt certification preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of 6S, Visual Management, VSM, and other Lean Tools
  • Strong understanding of ERP, particularly PLM, BOM's, Routers
  • Basic understanding of costing and calculating ROI
  • Knowledge with ISO standards and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to lead and train team members
  • Quality focused, some experience in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement change effectively, fostering adaptability and progress within the team
  • Actively promotes a culture of safety and ensures adherence to safety standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrates accountability by consistently meeting deadlines and delivering reliable, high-quality work


Work Environment:
This position works in both an office and shop environment. The employee must be cognizant of hazards, including but not limited to variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Physical Demands:
The following definitions apply to the physical demand requirements for this position:
  • Frequently stand, walk, lift and push/pull 10 lbs. or less
  • Occasionally bend, squat/kneel, lift and push/pull between 11 - 20 lbs.
  • Constantly sit, speak and manually manipulate item


Pay Range

$91,501.00 Annually to $137,252.00 Annually
