In this role, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of SSD firmware by developing and implementing validation strategies, analyzing failures, and improving test automation. You9ll work closely with firmware engineers, product teams, and fellow validation engineers to deliver robust solutions while expanding your expertise in storage technologies, automation, and AI-driven testing.
Responsibilities:- Implement firmware verification strategies for customer requirements and NVMe protocol features, including SMART, Trim, Get Log Page, and OCP functionality
- Investigate regression and field failures, perform root-cause analysis, and document findings
- Enhance test infrastructure, automation frameworks, CI/CD workflows, and reporting tools while collaborating with multi-functional teams
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and copilots to improve test optimization, failure triage, anomaly detection, and engineering productivity
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor9s degree and 3-5 years of experience, or Master9s degree and 1-3 years of experience, in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong Python programming skills, including experience with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and test automation development
- Experience with test methodologies, automation concepts, and validation strategy execution
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applying existing models or libraries to testing challenges
- Proficiency with AI-enabled development tools and strong communication skills in multi-functional environments
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Experience implementing automation solutions in testing or validation environments
- Understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, and storage technologies
- Familiarity with NVMe, PCIe, NAND flash memory, or SSD architectures
- Experience with C or Rust, Linux and Windows environments, and Git-based development workflows
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$81,000.00 - $137,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
