Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:

KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation is looking for an accomplished, driven, and collaborative On-Going Product Development Design Engineer II on our Research, Development, and Innovation team. In this role you will be a member of the design team and integral in creating industry-leading high-performing durable product solutions. You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life. The individual in this role is expected to bring mechanical engineering knowledge and best practices to the development and improvement of products that meet or exceed our customer's expectations for function, performance, and durability. The individual in this role is expected to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Focuses on coordinating and leading activities on technical projects and assignments.
  • Collaborate with operations, external suppliers, manufacturing, quality, service, and materials engineering.
  • Develops and presents reports summarizing technical analysis to peer groups and managers.
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.
  • Analyzes and recommends engineering or design solutions for product, process, design, or other technical challenges.
  • Capable of leading cross-functional teams having broader, less-defined initial objective and scope.
  • Ability to utilize mechanical design analysis tools and develop test plans to quickly problem solve.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to design experimentation, analyze results, and draw conclusions.
  • Strong people skills, able to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience delivering new products and line extensions from ideation through commercialization using a gated design review process.
  • Experienced with 2D and 3D CAD modeling software (AutoCAD/Inventor or equivalent).
  • Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive.
  • 5-10 years engineering or technical experience.
  • Has demonstrated experience or the ability to grow into a people leader role.


NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experienced knowledge of lean, manufacturing design and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis.
  • Experience as a design or project lead on cross-functional engineering team.
  • FEA modeling, MS Office Suite.
  • Effective technical presentation and communication skills.


SHIFT: Day Shift - 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $86,353 - $110,100 per annum.
