  • Evaluate returned products, buyback samples, and adjacent cells to determine failure propagation and contributing factors impacting battery performance and safety.
  • Conduct reproducibility experiments to validate suspected failure mechanisms and confirm root causes of field quality issues.
  • Maintain operational readiness and perform basic maintenance of laboratory analysis equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficient utilization.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and prepare technical reports communicating root causes, findings, and recommended corrective actions to engineering and quality stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Customer Service/Warranty teams, suppliers, and global headquarters to support investigation and resolution of product issues.
  • Maintain laboratory organization and compliance with 5S3R standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container) to ensure a safe and efficient analysis environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, failure analysis, or reproducibility testing within an automotive or manufacturing environment (internship or co-op experience may be considered).
  • Experience conducting failure analysis of fire-related components.
  • Experience using analytical and non-destructive testing equipment such as 3D CT scanning, SEM/EDX, ion milling, mechanical polishing, or optical microscopy.
  • Knowledge of metrology, measurement systems, and calibration processes within a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams within a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support investigations, testing activities, and collaboration with global teams.

Skills:
  • Knowledge of IATF and ISO standards.
