Job Description:
Microchip has an exciting opportunity for a recent college graduate seeking hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Our Lawrence, MA facility is a 4-inch wafer fabrication plant that produces unique and often custom discrete devices.
In this role, Equipment Engineers partner closely with Equipment Technicians to maintain, repair, and optimize manufacturing equipment that supports our production operations. The position is primarily based at our Lawrence, MA fabrication facility, with occasional support required at our Lowell, MA fab.
The typical work schedule is approximately 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. While these hours are preferred, some flexibility is available based on business needs and individual circumstances.

- Troubleshoot problems and repair equipment.
- Improve systems and equipment to optimize equipment uptime.
- Interface with equipment suppliers and vendors to solve equipment problems or identify upgrades.
- Research alternative replacement part suppliers and solutions.
- Work with process engineers to select new equipment.
- Support new tool installations.
- Lead tool upgrade projects.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- BSME, BSEE or equivalent degree.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with a desire to understand how machines work.
- Strong working knowledge of electronics.
- Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
- Experience in the use of DC test equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills as well as good listening skills.
- Experience analyzing data.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to use MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience with metal deposition, wafer etching, diffusion, photo lithography or other related wafer fabrication equipment.
- Experience in Wafer Fabrication manufacturing equipment repair.
- Experience with CAD.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304-$143,000.*
*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
