Position Summary

The Electrification Systems Engineer leads the development and integration of electrical power systems, energy storage systems, power electronics, and control architectures for electrified products. This role collaborates with subsidiary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrification solutions that meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrification architectures and system requirements.
  • Define and manage requirements for batteries, electric motors, inverters, chargers, DC-DC converters, and related subsystems.
  • Perform system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring architectures, and power distribution systems.
  • Support integration of hardware and software components across vehicle or equipment platforms.
  • Conduct system verification, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Analyze system performance, efficiency, thermal behavior, and safety characteristics.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineering teams on component selection and development.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and functional safety requirements.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and production launches.
  • Document designs, requirements, test plans, and engineering changes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrification, electric vehicles, power electronics, battery systems, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of:
    • High-voltage electrical systems
    • Battery management systems (BMS)
    • Electric motors and drives
    • Power electronics
    • CAN communication networks
    • Control systems and embedded software
  • Experience with system engineering methodologies and requirements management.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as:
    • CANalyzer
    • AutoCAD Electrical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with EV, hybrid vehicle, industrial electrification, or energy storage systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL, SAE, or other relevant standards.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for connected electrical systems.
