The pay range is $75,400.00 - $135,700.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As an Engineer on the Enterprise Reliability team, you help build solutions that make Target's technology more resilient, observable, and dependable. Working with guidance from experienced engineers, you contribute code, automation, tools, and documentation that reduce operational risk and help teams build and run reliable products. You use system signals and incident learning to identify recurring issues and support improvements that balance delivery speed with security, scalability, and reliability. Build and maintain software, automation, and reusable capabilities that help engineering teams operate enterprise services safely and consistently. With guidance, contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of tools related to observability, incident response, service health, resilience, and operational readiness. Learn to use service-level indicators and objectives, logs, metrics, traces, and alerts to understand system behavior and identify improvements. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, debugging, and structured problem solving. Help automate repetitive operational work, improve monitoring and alert quality, and support capacity, performance, and availability analysis. Participate in incident response, post-incident learning, disaster recovery exercises, and follow-up work that prevents recurrence. Create clear documentation, runbooks, standards, and examples that help product teams adopt reliability practices. Follow change, security, risk, and incident management expectations while partnering with engineers and product teams to promote shared ownership of reliability.

About you:
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of software development, infrastructure, operations, internship, or equivalent hands-on technical experience
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language and a willingness to learn additional technologies
• Foundational understanding of version control, testing, debugging, data structures, secure coding, and distributed systems
• Interest in observability, automation, incident response, resilience, performance, capacity, or disaster recovery
• Ability to use logs, metrics, and other system signals to investigate problems and communicate findings
• Collaborative approach, clear communication, thoughtful questions, and openness to feedback
• Learning mindset and commitment to building technical and domain knowledge through training and hands-on practice

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core rolewill need to beperformedboth onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned toandvirtually,depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
